Here at Crown Cup, we have always acknowledged the importance of the environment and continue to do so. We recycle over 95% of our waste including cardboard, paper, polythene, plastic bottles, cans, printer cartridges, batteries, vending cups, old vending machines etc. We even recycle our used water filters, which are then used to make garden furniture!
You too can be involved. We have solutions for cup collections via Save-a-Cup at a fraction of the cost of landfill tax and our Minima Office solution will reduce your bottle and can volume by approximately 80% to save space prior to collection by Save-a-Cup.
Our machine range comes with environmental design features built in as an essential. The snack and bottle machines are so energy efficient they have achieved an EMP energy efficiency rating of A++ using well-placed LED lighting, better insulation etc. Other machines in our range feature “eco modes” to save money and energy.
Included in our water cooler range is an innovative piece of technology called the SIP unit. Amongst other things, the SIP can control power to your cooler. So, for example, you could program it to shut off power to the cooler at 6:00 PM and then turn on at 6:00 AM, saving you up to 912kwh per year.
So here at Crown Cup you don’t only get “the cup that cheers” but also “the cup that recycles!”
Minima Office
Many of you will be under pressure to provide evidence that you are taking steps towards improving your carbon footprint. The Minima Office provides the perfect opportunity in helping you achieve this. It is a new and innovative, easy-to-operate, electrically powered machine that individually compacts steel and aluminium cans, plastic bottles and tetrapak containers to approximately 80% of their original bulk. This machine is designed to encourage the customer to engage in the recycling process, which will ultimately increase its impact.
There is a counter on the machine which tracks the number of products crushed, and this provides quick and easy evidence of recycling activity on your premises. As your recyclable material is crushed, the environment benefits from a reduction of C02 emissions and you benefit economically from fewer skip collections required.
Some interesting facts:
- A used aluminium can is recycled and back on the grocery shelf in as little as 60 days.
- Throwing away an aluminium can wastes as much energy as pouring out 70% of that can's volume in petrol.
- One truckload of crushed cans and bottles = four truckloads of uncrushed cans and bottles.
